Louise Body
|
Louise Body is a Hastings based wallpaper designer whose work has gone from strength to strength, regularly being featured in leading style magazines. It is easy to see why Louise’s designs are so successful: there is a personal quality to them and a hint of nostalgia which comes through in her choice of colour and subject. Her wallpaper entitled Harry’s Garden, depicting blue tits, bird cages and blossom was named after her 86 year old artist friend. Louise originally trained in Fine Art and this can really be felt in her work. The bird and floral designs have a vintage feel to them. Other designs are based on plant forms and one is based on lace, given to her by her grandmother, Marney. Louise combines drawing, painting and photographic imagery to produce these delicate and beautiful designs. It is particularly pleasing to note that Louise’s papers are printed on paper sourced from managed forests, and use only water based inks. |
